a. 1-1-1. General.

Adds information regarding the possibility of momentary erroneous indications on cockpit displays when the primary signal generator for a ground-based navigational transmitter is inoperative.

b. 4-1-9. Traffic Advisory Practices at Airports Without Operating Control Towers.

Adds information regarding new automated UNICOM system.

c. 4-3-9. Runway Friction Reports and Advisories.

Updates information with current procedures.

d. 5-2-6. Instrument Departures.

Adds additional information concerning published departure procedures.

e. 5-3-7. Holding.

Adds information concerning protection for published climb-in hold procedures.

f. 5-4-5. Instrument Approach Procedure Charts.

Changes figure titles and illustrations to clarify the design for parallel runways and adds radio failure information.

g. 7-3-4. Vortex Behavior.

Provides new information on vortex bounce.

h. 7-3-6. Vortex Avoidance Procedures.

Provides guidance to pilots on techniques that they should use during terminal area approach to landing operations in visual meteorological conditions.

i. 7-6-4. Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) Reports.

Adds new paragraph giving directions on how to report any unexplained phenomena.

j. Chapter 10 Helicopter Operations.

Adds new chapter providing guidance for airpersons on certain helicopter-specific flight operations in the National Airspace System. This new chapter will allow interested parties more direct access to helicopter-specific operational information.

k. Entire manual. Editorial/format changes made throughout the manual.
